School Visits

School Visits

Many local schools take the opportunity to teach their students about Judaism and some of our Festivals and customs.

We are delighted to host schools in the Synagogue, giving students the opportunity to have a guided tour of the Synagogue and ask any questions about what they have seen or from what they have previously learnt.

If you would like to book a school visit please click here.

Kerens Nursery

A Home Away From Home in Holland Park

Keren’s Nursery in Holland Park Synagogue is one of three nurseries in this husband-and-wife run chain, and is graded as ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted. This group of nurseries is well known for offering a loving home away from home environment to pre-schoolers across London since 2004. Here at Holland Park, it is no different. The setting is noticeably warm and nurturing. The building has undergone extensive refurbishment thanks to the nursery, and now accommodates a maximum of four classes to care for up to 60 children from the age of 10 months until rising 5 years.

Our Goals

The nursery works towards achieving three goals in preparation for school life: •  Developing social skills •  Improving independence •  Increasing self-esteem and self-confidence. A traditional Jewish ethos is at the heart of the nursery. Activities follow the Jewish calendar, set against a multi-cultural context reflecting our local community. Kabbalat Shabbat takes place every week, and children learn Hebrew alongside a monthly rotation of other languages such as French, Russian, Portuguese and Makaton. Activities run by peripatetic visiting teachers include movement and dance, music and sport. Children enjoy outdoor play daily in our two on-site gardens, as well as having daily play in the tranquil private gardens of St James’s Square and local parks. Fresh Kosher dairy meals are prepared daily on site by our in-house cook. The nursery is ideal for working parents, and offers flexible options for extended hours and long terms. Mid-term entry may be available on request, please call for details.
